NFTS - Case Study - CV Reviews

Following on from running taster sessions on the role of an unscripted Production Co-ordinator across Leeds, Newcastle, Cardiff and Manchester and providing an in-depth day of training on the role in Cardiff back in October & November, I was asked to provide CV reviews for those who attended.

This involved us working with NFTS Cymru Wales, NFTS Leeds & NFTS Scotland, providing one to one sessions via Zoom over a period of 6 days for 28 individuals who took part in the 'Introduction to the role of Production Coordinator' training run by NFTS Leeds & NFTS Cymru Wales in association with the BBC.

The one to one sessions were approximately 30 minutes long where in that time, we provided tailored advice on CV improvements to help each individual achieve their career goal, whether that was to continue to secure work in their current job role, or in some cases to secure those first roles within production management.  This was across both scripted and unscripted genres.

Each attendee received screenshots of our notes around what needed to be changed/what could be improved on their CV, AI notes to summarise the session and where applicable alternative templates to use to improve their CV.

“Hannah from Media Career Advice provided 6 days of CV clinics to compliment a Production Coordinator training programme we were delivering for the BBC. This element was incredibly important to help our participants take the next step into employment. Hannah is always a delight to work with, we always receive excellent feedback due to her informative and friendly approach. Hannah always goes the extra mile which is evident in her thorough work”

Rhiannon Forsyth, Head of NFTS Cymru Wales

“It’s a huge passion of mine to be able to support individuals to take the next step in their career, so I was thrilled when I was asked by the NFTS to provide CV advice to those who undertook the Production Coordinator training programme.  Working as a Head of Production/Snr Production Manager, having received hundreds of CVs when recruiting for positions, I’m uniquely placed to offer the employers view of what they want from CVs, so I find it incredibly rewarding to provide this advice and help individuals secure their next position.”
